الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Alhamdulillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur
TRANSLATION
All praise is for Allah who gave us life after causing us to die and to Him is the resurrection

Recite this immediately upon waking for Tahajjud. The fact that you wake up at night when others sleep is itself a gift. Before performing the prayer thank Allah for waking you and giving you this blessed opportunity.
